The question comes up on a fairly regular basis from friends and family...how does one get into the games industry as an artist?

I usually get the question from one of the parents of a student who is still in school, but wants to at least look into what's involved. I've been meaning for some time to write an in-depth article about it and I finally got off my butt and did.

So if you know anybody that has any questions on the topic, have them take a look.

My day job keeps me very busy, sometimes with late night hours, and I don't have as much free time as I'd like to create more images of my own work. I think most of us know how that goes!

My job is doing lighting for computer games, and I just did an article on my website about the lighting I worked on for the Playstation 3 game "Resistance: Fall of Man" that came out late last year. Even if you're not into games, it may still be of some interest as lighting in games, digital art in general, and even real life have many similarities.
