The question comes up on a fairly regular basis from friends and family...how does one get into the games industry as an artist?

I usually get the question from one of the parents of a student who is still in school, but wants to at least look into what's involved. I've been meaning for some time to write an in-depth article about it and I finally got off my butt and did.

So if you know anybody that has any questions on the topic, have them take a look.

Check it out here.

Wow! I just found you!! and i have to say!! I just found out that you were one of my first and biggest inspiration for gaming, and arts combined! My very first favourite game was C&C when i was 7-8 years old and i loved the designs, and in Tiberian Sun too, made such an influence on me! And finally i just stumbled upon your website by searching for clues how to get a job as a concept artist myself in the future! I dont know but it just felt weird and fuzzy, that i just found out the man behind the stuff that started my love for this kinda stuff, and now 18 years later reading your words in your website how to become an artist is amazing, its like a full circle! I embrace it as a divine sign or something.. it really was kinda emotional to me :D

Anywayz! Thank you for all the awesome amazing designs! I STILL refer to those oldschool C&C designs as i really loved the fact about them that they felt very real and felt as actually functional! real warmachines, not like some of the crazy over the top gimmicky designs modern games sometimes tend to have.

Here is a walking mech design which i did not so long ago, when i did this painting, i thought about old C&C designs, that i want to achieve something similiar to that vibe vise :)

Going good...Germany has been fun, and I've had time to do some traveling to other areas in Europe as well. Will be coming back to the states in the Fall probably.
